A tribute to the Old Man of the Mountain formerly above Franconia Notch in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I shall never forget the first time my father took us there to see him as if he were showing us an old friend, the "Great Stone Face." The 1805 date in the last frame refers to when the Old Man was first recorded as being seen; of course, he had been there for thousands of years.

  • @RedKruzer so glad you liked this! very sad day when the Old Man fell from the Mountain in 2003.

  • We'd like to post a link to this video if it is ok? Please advise if its not ok and we'll take it down. VERY nice tribute!! MOVING.

  • @pineneedlecards Yes, of course, you may post a link to this video -- thank you very much for your comment, I'm delighted that you like it well enough to post elsewhere!

  • Sarah - how sad for the stony old man. He was there a long time. Most evocative music and video. You have some stunningly beautiful countryside in your part of the new world. My rocks are Cambrian, of course.

  • Every single day I have spent in the White Mountains over the years is impressed upon my memory, but some of the very best were when we climbed to the top of a mountain, and sat gazing for what seemed like hours at the spectacular mountain range all around and the forest and lakes below. I appreciate your comment very much, David. (Of course, what else would the rocks of Wales be?)
