Our day in Labadee, Haiti

November 15, 2010 we arrived with Oasis of the Seas to Labadee. Apart from all the swimming and such things we also took part in Haitian Hydro Highlights (Speedboat tour) and tried the world's longest zipline over water, Dragon's Flight Line.

Sorry, I was typing that on my iPhone.. I'm using iMovie 11 which is included in all Apple computers. It's a really easy program and perfect for beginners such as myself. The clip took about 15 minutes to edit..

First of all I think Royal Caribbean wishes Labadee was an island and there would be no issue. It was always intended to be a beach day stop not a port to visit.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to travel in a pack to a private island that is fenced off and prohibited to locals and shown a touristy Disneyland version of a country. But to each her/his own. Nearby Cap Haitien is a wonderful city with the Marche de Fer for shopping and fine old buildings. I walked around alone day and night and met charming people. Not cheap, however, as prices are driven up in hotels by the aid groups on expense accounts.
