Uneven wear is rarely caused by improper inflation. It's usually caused by alignment, and uneven wear is not always a bad thing.
Also, the more tread you have the slower your car responds, there is nothing wrong with having less than 1/16th of an inch (Yeah I simplified your fraction) of tread. It's optimal to have less tread in dry performance situations. You're not risking a blow out until your tread is long gone assuming you've bought quality tires.
