PS1P: PSP on Playstation Emulation-Neverhood Chronicles

Dreamworks' clay-animated videogame, "The Neverhood Chronicles", being played on a PSP. Last weekend, "anonymous coder" released PS1P-Alpha 1, the best Playstation-to-PSP emulator currently available to homebrew PSP users. One of the reported drawbacks was that the emulator could not play video on most games. However, "The Neverhood Chronicles" isn't most games. This is actually the Japanese version of the game, released as "Klaymen Klaymen". It's currently playable... a little slow, but not terribly. The video playback is excellent. There's no sound yet.

It does if you use a PSP with custom firmware 3.02B or higher. Full sound too! Just remember that you have to format the game from a disc or ISO to an eboot. There's a number of utilities out there for eboot conversion. Prometeus Pro is a good one for OS X.

So you can upload "The Neverhood Chronicles" into your PSP?

You can take a PS1 game, convert it using a program called POPStation on your PC, load it onto a memory stick & play it on a PSP. Your PSP will need to have a custom firmware loaded onto it. (To find a firmware, try googling the words PSP and M33. )

There's no use in asking me for roms. I bought the game new from NCSX back in the late 90's. As for what a "bricked psp" is: Bricking is slang for a PSP that doesn't work anymore, usually due to an attempt at modifying the PSP's firmware.

Couldn't you possibly upload the Neverhood.bin or the Eboot that you have on your PSP/Computer and tell us the link? I swear, I have the game, but for the PC, and I can't find a torrent or download ANYWHERE (looked through 64 pages on google with no luck). All I can find is SkullMonkeys, but it's always the English version, which won't work on the PSP. Only the Japanese versions work. Dunno why. Please send me a message if you decide to upload it. Great video, and this game has always been #1!
