It seems that just about everybody has an idea of how the world is going to end and how Jesus is gonna deal out a whooping to the less deserving. But is it possible that we've missed the whole point about a Judge who's made it clear that He's not in the judgment business? A judge who has rigged the whole legal process, is shamelessly in cahoots with the guilty, and who has made the flat announcement that He's a judge whose very shtick isnonjudgment?

The gospel is a scandalous announcement that has to invade our end-times eschatology. Enjoy this week's video as John Crowder gives some happy thoughts on the judgment of God. For more information on Sons of Thunder Ministries & Publications, visit us online at www.thenewmystics.com.

  • The only judgement you can have is self judgement?

Haven't you ever read "Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "if anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb."" (Revelations 14:9-10)?

  • @mvdbergrede Notice they'll not be tormented in "eternal separation from the Lamb" but "in the presence of the Lamb." God is love. To some people He's a consuming fire of pleasure. To those who refuse to trust, He's a fire of consuming torment. If you wanna be paranoid and fearful of God - refusing to trust His goodness - then you can have all the judgment you want (the delusional idea that LOVE is a bad guy).

  • 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.

  • @valjbaby90 Jesus has not returned yet.

  • and this

    1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever

  • @valjbaby90 Sounds like fun!

  • So why does the bible say this? Matthew 24:40-41

Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left

  • Luke 17:20-21 (NIV) Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."

  • "And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged."

    (John 16:8-11 ESV)
