i think the two beat should be the first lesson
thats what i was doing like five minutes before the first lesson, and i was quite good at it,and i think it helped me to do the other things better

I've been watching your videos for about an hour and I've managed to get the 2 beat wave already! I am pretty co-ordinated anyway but you are very thorough!
Thanks for youe help!

Ugh I'm having so much trouble with this. Am I doing something horribly wrong, or does it just come with practice? :(

[continued from last post]...

@aquagreenbee I would highly recommend continuing to practice this move until you can get it. It may seem really difficult at first, but it's the determination to persevere that will take you far, and the control required to complete this move will be essential for your overall poi spinning.
If you're getting really bored though, feel free to try out other moves, because if you're not enjoying yourself it's hard to stay motivated, so making your practice sessions enjoyable is vital.

now im just a beginner so don't get mad. does it matter what type of beat (ex: 2-beat, 3-beat) you do to any song, or is there specific songs to do it to?

@bluewind45 I'm not mad, that's an awesome question, because you're asking how it relates to music, so your head's in the right place for dance already. If the beat is a 4/4 then you can do either, it just depends on how tightly you want the musical structure to be reflected by your poi beats. If you want the moves to fit perfectly with the rhythm count, 4/4 will only work on even-beated moves, like the 2bt or 4bt weaves. 3/3 counts (such as waltzes) will only fit odd beated moves, like 3 or 5bt

@NathanielEverist Also worth noting, is that any 1bt move will be suited to match any rhythm count.
