Yeah but where would the (un)Holy Roman Catholic Empire be without a base of ignorance and poverty to sustain it?

>>and poverty to sustain it?

Hmm, maybe "and poverty to PROP IT UP" would be a better choice of words.

"We need more SHEARING! "

Shearing? No - Sharing, yes. Plenty of shearing going on upon the backs of the sheeple/slaves.

The simple self-evident solution to excess C02 (if there even IS excess C02) is to grow more beneficial plants that will NATURALY convert the C02 into food and Oxygen.

Instead, what we've got is the AGW control-freak far$e - with iGore & Co. in position to make billions from Carbon Credits.

Lots of good ideas. Caring for each other and the resources that sustain us is a sound, conservative, ideal.

Imagine larger community gardens - folks working cooperatively for the mutual benefit of all....

Think of it as the American Heartland -scaled-down, more intimate, and long-term sustainable.

Too bad the AGW farce distracts and discredits legitimate efforts such as this one...

He has some good ideas. I like the idea of low tunnels to grow vegetables in the winter more than a greenhouse. Low tunnels aka quick hoops are cheaper and work even in Maine. For more info: google mother earth news low tunnels.

Part 2.
Most people don't know this, but the Haber process produces so much ammonia that it sustains 1/3 of the human population. That's right, if we completely got rid of it, 2,000,000,000 people would die.
Nitrogen fixation by natural systems is great, but it can no longer sustain our large population.

On the other hand, our careless use of fertilizer has caused eutrophication that leads to massive die-offs in marine environments.

Despite a few inaccuracies, this project is a good idea.
