@ishouldplayzelda Difficult to say. Sounds more likely that it is a hard drive issue. If the hard drive cannot be read then it normally will freeze, and cannot be synced.

mine never syncs right and it freezes constantly. if i get a new hard drive will it fix it or could it be a board issue

@thefranzfrom1991 Yes, it does sound like a hard drive issue. I would suggest replacing it with one of the same size (80GB). Other sizes use different flex cables which are not compatible. Once the new hard drive is synced everything should be good to use. Check out RepairsUniverse (dot) com for replacement hard drives.

I need some help, please somebody! ive an 80 gb zune and it doesn't allow me to sync songs on it. when I put "sync to my zune" it sart syncing but it never ends and it ends showing an message that says "your device isn´t respondig, please disconnect.."bla.I'm quite convinced that it's hard drive is broken. If I install a new HD on it,an empty one,how do I put the ZUNE software IN the zune,I mean, the device interface and those stuff....also, which kind of HD should I put in it? size, etc. THNKS!!
Hi, what is the model of HDD in Zune? i need new HDD for my hp mini 1000 , and i was wondering would it work ? i know ipod classic 120gb wont work(has a 4KB Block Size (physical))

@arvutimodem The Zune 120 and iPod Classic use the same hard drive sadly. I am unsure another model of HD that will work on the HP Mini 1000.

Can you put a bigger size drive in a 80gb Zune, or is there a size limit on the logicboard?

@mgh6x37 The motherboard is only set up for that specific hard drive size. I know a larger hard drive can be rigged onto the Zune's, however this does take quite a bit of technical knowledge.

so when i get a new hard drive will the firmware be intact or will there be a special process to upload the firmware

@zomby0wolf The Zune software will do this for you. Very simple process.
