That movie "Network" was considered 'just a movie, quite entertaining." and most of them (the movie-going public) went happily about their business of competing with each other to achieve the Am. Dream; "success" being defined by the bottom line of the standard of living one could display. I remember how hard I tried to develop a dialogue about that movie's message; the insidious gains being made by the ruling elite, and the books I tried to loan out to friends...No one had time to read.
