i shoulda said, i work with explosives. (ACL Shotfiring Pty. Ltd. Victoria Australia) and yes dets are a serious thing. I saw a "saftey officer" at the Gold Mine I used to work in, burn some explosives rubbish ie saftey fuse, det cord, emulite, powergel, which is completley safe apart from the fumes. Its one of a few disposal methods. A .500 second eletric det was in it somewhere, he put his hand near the pile to move sum stuff, and pop! it split his hand in btween middle fingers about an inch.

me says to meself, the sireens and flasheen lights were mighty theatrical and th like. he he he , weeeeeeeee woooooooo weeeeeeeeeee woooooooooo Look out! captain detonator and his invisible but loveable side kick Blam boy are on the case of the single misplaced detonator. Holy single misplaced detonators captain detonator!, how are we gunna deal with this single misplaced detonator? well Blam boy, im gunna act terribly important and wear my lucky helmet, betty.

It's way more serious than that dude. I've seen pics of a little kid that put a cap in his mouth...not pleasent. Split his skull literally down the middle. If you want, I'll give you the link...you may have a morbid sense of curiosity... :)

haha wow. They left the holes wired? I would hope that the caps were not in the charge...but still even just a cap can do serious damage. Those workers should lose there jobs and get arrested for reckless endangerment...lol seriously...
