  • Oh, how lovely! I've been doing it myself, and her version, though from the 40's is as modern as the day.

  • @joeasmythe Nice version! Also like a slower version by Joni James recorded on an album.

Helen was a beautiful woman with a great smile and pleasant singing voice.

  • Helen could heat up a room just by walking in. She had that special quality perfect for the big band era, vivacious, gorgeous, with a great set of pipes, we sure could use her back here today. Sadly, the music of the "greatest era" is gone, but will never be forgotten...

  • The 'best' version I ever heard was by Carmen McRae! Matter of personal taste of course.

  • This is the best! Other singers have tried, but not come close. Anita O'Day sings it like she's on speed. It's choppy and frantic. Helen knows how to sing this with style, class, and most of all a great talent!

  • what a cutie! thanks

  • Helen was such an incredible talent and always one of my most favorite of all the ladies who sang with the big bands. She was so very charming and beautiful.

  • I love this song. I also love the song, Yours, from her Green Eyes album. Anyone have that album?

  • My favorite tune from the big band period, except this is a later version featuring O'Connell. The original has two different tempos with equal emphasis on Helen, Eberly, and Dorsey. But O'Connell was really underrated. She has a special sparkle, like a smile, in her voice.
