Using macro with hdr hc3 is easy. Just enable macro function and position the camera on 30+ cm from the object. Then just use manual focus to put the subject into focus...

Thanks and no I did not do any post-production work on the footage. the only thing i did with it was convert it from HD to DV when capturing was done. Thats it. This is a great camera don't get me wrong, but if your looking for a camera that can make your footage look film like and has alot of other features in it, get yourself either a panasonic hvx200 or a canon xh-a1. They are expensive but totally worth it....

This looks real good! Lighting and everything, good enough to make a film! Did you do any postproduction stuff on this, color correcting, blur...?(apart from transitions of course) Also did you shoot it in HD? I have the hc3, and soon to own Premiere CS3.. :) Can´t wait to see what I can get out of this camera!

Beauty is in the eye ... and I've seen examples of this person's other work, so my "talent" comment stands. Perhaps it doesn't seem like there's a lot of talent behind THIS particular video, but I can without equivocation say "...talent is remarkable"
what video editing software did you use and where did you get that camera? how much was it?

I used sony vegas for the editing. its alright but your better of with adobe, final cut, or avid. I borrowed the camera from someone so I cant really tell you where to get it or the price. The sony HDR-SR10 is kind of like the one I used but its not tape based its hard drive .

Hey, i'm tryn to get the telemacro feature to work on my hc3 but i can't seem to figure it out, could you help me and tell me exactly how you got ur shots to work

well i got these macro shots by shooting really close to the object. since i dont have a 35mm adapter, the only way you can get these nice macro shots is if you either physically get close or zoom in. after that you just gotta mess around with the manual focus control.

In that last shot (cell phone & lip balm) were you using a tripod? The shot looks steady and very cinematic.
I also noticed that the camera must've been on cinematic mode(24 frame per sec.) I have HC7 and it's equiped with that feature. Normal would be 29 frame per sec.

Yes i did use a tripod. It wasnt a fluid head tripod so the sweep across wasnt as smooth as i wanted it to be (if you noticed the slight jolt during the shot). As far as the 24 fps, I didnt specifically set the frame speed to 24 frames. Honestly I dont remember if the camera had a feature that let you adjust the frame speed. All I did was turned the camera on and started filming the macro shots. It probably looked like 24 fps because of how nice those shots turned out.... :)
