EXTRACTED FROM WIKIPEDIA: Triple Triad is a card game in Final Fantasy VIII, designed by battle designer Hiroyuki Ito. Triple Triad is played on a three-by-three (3x3) square grid of blank spaces, where cards will be placed as the game progresses. The cards depict various characters, monsters, and bosses from the game, and four numbers placed in arrangement so each corresponds to one of the four sides of the card. When a card is played, its values are assessed and compared to any cards which are adjacent on the grid. If the played card's sides are of a higher value, then the opposing card or cards become controlled by the player, and change in color. Gameplay continues until the entire grid is filled. As there are only nine spaces on the board, the player who did not go first has one card remaining. Once the game is complete, the player who has the most cards in his color is named the winner.

So now that you know what is this project about, feel free to give feedback. I'm still deciding what kind of pictures I'm going to show in the cards (videogame characters, celebrities, animals, whatever...).

By the way, the whole gameplay system has been created using Kismet. No code for now.

Here you have a list of some problems and missing features that will be fixed for the next version:

- The "winner screen" doesn't actually match with the actual winner
- Cards can be placed on top others that are already placed
- No Multiplayer functionality (yet)
- Only 5 cards
- Rules such as SAME, COMBO, etc... are not yet implemented.
- Some Z-Fighting issues
- Game cannot be restarted
- Sound glitches

  • I don't get the rules, not being a FF7 fan. Seems interesting. Which do you prefer, UDK or Source?

  • @SabreXT The rules are in the description of the video. ;)

About which engine I prefer nowadays, I will say Unreal without a doubt. I really don't mind that Source is getting old and outdated (actually Left 4 Dead 2 and Portal 2 look pretty awesome for today's standards), what I hate is the lack of support and the instability of most of the tools provided by Valve with the Source SDK.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • o_O?! por qué ha ganao el azul?!?! xD

  • @zoitsudo Es un bug, tío. Cuando pueda lo arreglo. xD
