Illinois got their just desserts in the UNC game. Illini drones think Augustine got called for phantom fouls simply because they got accustomed to the idea that their team was allowed to maul and manhandle the opposition with no consequences, as in the Arizona game, which they did not deserve to win. The refs simply did their job in the final and called legitimate fouls a foul. Naturally, Illini fans were stunned that the refs did not allow them a cakewalk victory. Boo hoo hoo.

Anyone who watched the UNC-ILL championship game knows that the officiating was complete BS. Augustine got fouls instaneously whenever his feet touched the court and he barely played. Not to mention various other shady calls. So yeah, I'm still going to say Illinois was the best team in 2005.

but from a college basketball perspective... Illinois lost to Ohio State during the regular season of that same year. So alot of credit needs to be given to the Ohio State team of '05 as well as the UNC guys.
