"The wrist is taken to ulnar deviation at first. The pulp of the thumb is kept at the dorsal aspect of the scaphoid and lunate. The pressure is applied for the dorsal ventrally in a very firm way, the pressure is maintained. It is taken through radial deviation. While performing the radial deviation the pressure is released. The therapist then tries to take it through further radial deviation. If the radial deviation is achieved further then the test is positive"
@tigoldbitties1 I had rotary instability of my scaphoid, not a fracture. Bu tlast year I had a partial fusion, STT fusion and I;m loving my new wrist. I am very active and it has been great! Major surgery, major recovery and some flaws but so much better.
i broke my scaphoid 3 yrs ago, the fist surgery i got a screw put in. 1yr went by and their was still pain in moving, plus lack of mobility and reduced strength. 2nd surgery i got a new screw and a bone graph. once again it didnt heal. if anybody has any advice id really appreciate it. thx
But what you may also find is palpable instability and joint clicking, indicating scapholunate instability.
