June 17, 2009-Wed.*Chicago Children's Choir: In Concert at the Ravinia Festival.Traditional Cuban Folk Song "Son de Camaguey" arranged by Stephen Hatfield. The arranger wrote: "Son de Camaguey" was a Cuban folk song from which I had taken the refrain and framed it with kaleidoscopic patterns of ostinatos inspired by the song and by Afro-Cuban music in general. The verse of the song praised not only the music and scenery of Camaguey, but also how naturally good-looking the people were. English Translation:"This is something lovely, these traditions. O what a lovely sounding rhythms"(Reflection of the beautiful people and the land of Camaguey)
