Jim opened the program with a brief review of some of the points made by Barack Obama as he delivered the annual State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday evening. He contrasted Obama's rhetoric with the record of the Obama Administration.

Also featured was an audio clip of freshman Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson in which he criticized what he called "unsustainable deficit spending", and the "out of control" government of the United States managing over three trillion dollars without any new budget being passed by Congress in the past 1000 days.

Jim then opened the phone lines to allow listeners to express their reactions to the State of the Union Address, and to the Republican response given by Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels.
