Krásna Hôrka is a National Cultural Monument situated 8 km eastwards from Rožňava above the village Krásnohorské Podhradie. On the top of a steep conic-shaped hill you will see a Gothic castle from the beginning of the 14-th century. It was rebuilt into a fortress-castle and later into a representative residency of nobles. The castle was inhabited till 1812. Its last owner D. Andrássy rebuilt the interior into a museum - which was open to public in 1906. The castle was reconstructed in 1946. D. Andrassy decided to build a Secession mausoleum for his wife in the periphery of the village Krásnohorské Podhradie. It was built from coloured marble coming from the all continents of the world. Inside of the mausoleum you can see the sarcophagus of D. Andrassy and his wife Františka. A statue of a dog is from A. Stróbl. In front of the mausoleum there is a park place. There is a Gemer gallery in originally a Secession pinakotheke from 1910. In the village there you can find a Gothic church from the 15-th century - later it gained some Classicistic features.
