  • Lothar have you ever seen a show caled Threads. Similar to this but a U.K. version, you may want to check it out.

  • @dlr1241 Saw it many years ago. Brilliant film.

  • @lothartheterrible figure you would have. Really scary stuff.....breakdown of society and language. Takes it alot further that the day after.

  • @dlr1241 That's the part of the movie that disturbed me the most; the final half hour that depicted the breakdown of language and communication. Terrifying.

  • @Noex18 I ripped this from a DVD and had to compress the living shit out of it otherwise the clips would have been shorter. I would apologize for the lack of clarity, but well, nobody paid me to digitize and upload this movie, so free gets you what it gets you. Had it been a paid venture I would probably have put more work into it. But it wasn't. So if it's not clear enough for your liking, then, with all due respect; don't watch it again.

  • @lothartheterrible Calm Down ! That was just a little critic !

  • 4:42 This whole scene... how heartland can you get?

  • stupidity does indeed have a habit of getting its way...george bush jr elected twice.....

  • I saw this movie in 7th or 8th grade. Back then US/Soviet relations dominated everything we did. For those too young to remember it might be hard to understand. But replace Soviets with terrorists right after 9/11 and you might understand the focus.

  • @lothartheterrible Threads was pretty brutal. Much more visceral that this show but both were remarkable for their time. I do think the loss of language part in Threads was unrealistic. People have been talking to each other for thousands of years before any big cities or education.

  • @jolpenrose Yeah, I know when and where it aired. I watched it at the time. The question under discussion is which year it was intended to be _set_ in, one theory being that it was meant to be set a few years later than the time it was actually produced. A couple of hints and tidbits in the film seem to suggest that. It's not super-important anyway, but how about you ease off that hair trigger a bit?

  • @DartsRme312 $17.50/hr back then is equivalent to nearly $40/hour in 2011. So...yeah.
