Last night (thursday March 31st 2011)
The house directly across the street caught fire. Incrediable how fast the fire devistates the house! Luckily no one was hurt and no animals were left in the blaze.

  • The fire crew did a great job keeping the fire from spreading and the neighbouring unit was saved from being severly damaged thanks to their work. At less than a year later the house is all fixed up and the residents have put this behind them.

  • Something the video doesn't capture is the time before we pressed play. I had noticed the flames already shooting out the upstairs windows and called 911, they were already on there way and you could hear the sirens for about 3 minutes before they arrived on scene. A police officer was there and had been able to get the next door neighbours bird out just before the fire trucks arrived.

  • Thanks for all the comments everyone. And thank you for the thumbs up. I will only say that in response to not leaving the house, it's not really afraid just trying to stay outta the way,

  • Good Job!!

  • Uh, don't you have WINDOWS in your house?

  • @melevy I am sorry for that, thanks for the correction

  • thanks i am a little rusty

  • @marcelrotgans "Damage" is spelled with one "m"

  • @7089540230 i know it isnt always the case. especially if a fire starts while we're asleep, not at home, or other situations where there's a delay from first flame to action. My house is VERY old, has old wiring and the infamous balloon structure frame, so my house is just a ticking time bomb for this disaster. i feel a lot safer with my ABC extinguishes, and the 2 fire stations that are only a few blocks away from my house. I guess you'll never know until it actually happens though.
