PY1 and the Safe2Live© team use Public Service announcements, performing arts, and the World Wide Web as accessible outreach tools, for engaging and educating the most vulnerable demographic and target audience: youth ages 8-13. The Safe2Live© Mobile Puppet Theater is both fun and involving, and increases awareness, Education and Prevention, by providing science-based facts and extending accurate knowledge about these diseases.
The Mobile Puppet Theater is a science-based presentation that deals with a boy named Devin, who arrives at a new school for his first day. In the beginning he is lost and confused, but gradually he discovers new friendships, and learns how everyday experiences relate to HIV and Hepatitis C.
The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) Infectious Disease and Environmental Health Administration (IDEHA) Community Review Panel (CRP) has approved Safe2Live©'s educational materials.
The Safe2Live© Mobile Puppet Theater has been approved by the Baltimore City Public School HIV and Human Sexuality Advisory Board/Panel.
