This was a well known Punk Band in the UK 1979. Sounds a bit like The Jam. With Neil O'Connor (somebody wrote he's the brother of Hazel ) !

  • Magic, loved all their stuff, both albums, b side EC4. Oh Beverley, how can 2 chords sound so good? So disappointed to get a fan club letter back to say they had split, I still hjave it, on green paper with Flys logo

  • GREAT tune! Top stuff!

  • @davepx

German TV, apparently - of course, you can tell from the clapping.

  • Like wheelz said - Holy shit! What show was this from, anyone know? And anybody who knows bribable Beeb folk, get those Peel sessions while you're at it! Fantastic to see them again. I saw 'em with the Adverts: you don't get many lineups like that - any, in fact. :)

  • Great to see this! I went to school with Pete King from the age of 11. He was into jazz and introduced me to drummers like Buddy Rich, Billy Cobham and Harvey Mason. I used to help out when the band were called Midnight Circus and Pete was playing with them then despite some stuff on the net about him not joining until they were called The Flys. I remember sitting in the Transit Van at Coventry carnival in the Memorial Park and Hazel O'Connor was with us before she had chart success. Great days!

  • cracking stuff.you can really hear the just pre Hazel style flavour of that time.Love the JBL /Altec 4560 bass bins...we had a pair with Gauss 400w rms drivers...double spider suspension, fucking indestructable....these days drivers up around 1500w....how technology moves on....xx

  • Saw 'em live @ the Marquee back in '78 - fab :-)
