  • It's telling that the impressive appearance (and price) contrasts to the fact that this can't be a serious timekeeper - the balance is too small.

  • The specs are in the video description section. But you are right; more flash than function.

  • holy fuck i just want my watch to tell me the time and not leave me bankrupt..

  • eh? What time is it? for that price, I'd like to be able to see the time LOL

  • i saw that there and filmed it too...amazing

  • I don't think that the balance wheel is too small...it's not much smaller than the ones used in most standard movements.

  • Since watches are not popular because of digital cell phones, i wonder can those watch companies make free energy devices because their expertise on "escapements" ?

  • The invention of another escapement does not render an older one useless. Just different. Like different machines. Some may be better, some may not.

I dont think Patek's silicon escape wheel is all that special. I don't think the co-axial is either.

The last true innovative mechanical watchmaker was Beguet anyway.

  • The greatest watch in the world

  • Its to bad that the creator of the "Co-Axial" escapment, Dr. Daniels, could in no way have forseen that his remarkable achivement (intellectual overkill in my mind), would in a few years, be rendered redundant and mabey, from a pragmatic standpoint, usless with Patek's introduction of the silicon escape wheel.
