@9secondsflat Freedom Arms' build quality is astounding. You have to shoot one to appreciate all they put into it, which ups the price.

Sorry for the late answer...just didn't see it... Handgunhunting is not alowed all over Europe! Getting a single shot hundgun is similar to getting a rifle: you need to become a member of a gunclub, shoot there for 12 month on a regular base and then you can get a license (called yellow WBK). With this you can buy two "less dangerous" guns every six month. For "dangerous guns" like shotguns, AR15 or handguns you need a "green WBK" AND a seperate permission for each gun...fucking politicians!

@fywacia hey it's ok. i'm assuming that you got a lot of things to do. it's all understandable. actualy i'm now looking at .40 simi-autos but eventualy i will buy a .454 when i get the money (i'll move to israel in about three years and enlist in their army (but request to not get pulled into the disputed territory issues. to me they should be either turned over to palastine or bought by israel.) and then i'll beable to buy the whole list of weapons i want. but thank you for the information.

@sodahl How hard it it to own a single shot handgun in Germany? And do they allow you to hunt with them?
-
@drstrangeman It's a shame that you had to wait 11 months for that bit of advice. My god man, I feel like I'm in a time warp! I had a freedom arms 454 revolver but it proved to be too much for me to handle. The Taurus is better suited for handling the violent recoil of the 454 Casull but its no where near as nice. The Ruger Super Redhawk is another good one. I recommend hand loading lighter loads and working your way up to full power to find your limit with any of those guns.

@fywacia i'll look into it thanks.

I can tell real quick what Freedom Arms needs to do with their single shot handgun. First it needs a brake that Gary Reeder Custom Guns offers. I've never shot a more effective brake in my life. Next it needs both the GNR cartridge line and the JDJ cartridge line as caliber options. Then some nice laminated grips and sling swivel mounts. After that you would have a masterpiece.

@drstrangeman Gun broker is a good place to save a few bucks on a used weapon.

Very nice gun, hope to see it here in Germany - would look nice next to my FA 475...

ha...it takes a little more to offend me. but i've been looking for jobs (pain in the ass so far) but i would get a .40 cal or a .45 acp but a .454 would bw fun...but i've been looking for an m1a rifle to save up for.
a contender at 3x the price

Maybe so, if you think a FA revolver is a Blackhawk at three times the price. If you ever get a chance to shoot one, you may feel differently - Jeff has never liked Contenders, but he loved the FA.
