I was there but it was cold outside and too hot inside the store for a heavy coat. Honestly, I would've gotten more out of it, if I had more time to spend inside. It was too much to take in with only a couple hours. Next time I'm in New York, I want it to be warmer and I'll want to spend a day. Also, I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't notice the downstairs. So, thanks for posting this.

I consider exploring a good used bookstore one of the simple pleasures of life, kind of a popoff valve on the pressures of modern day life,how bout' you? If anyone is familiar with the movie Six Degrees of Separation, this place is featured briefly in the film but at the time of production I believe it was touted as only 8 miles of books. Would love to visit NYC and spend some quality time in this place.
