If by blue gems you mean Rares (as opposed to uncommon or green text gems) I find it difficult to believe that you cannot make gold by selling them. I cut and sell mine for 29.99 (green), 39.99 (blue, yellow, orange, purple) and 99.99 (red). They are consistent sellers for the twink market and those using the excellent 3 socket HFP pants. You're misleading people. There are far more profitable uses for gems than you suggest.

@HaleighWatson hey, all i said is that i just vender the rare gems :P they wernt really turning a profit at all on my server, selling them uncut, was usually the same price as the vender and i'd repost cut gems for a week straight with selling very very few, keep in mind this may differ from every server

@Mylifeisyourlife1 usually always sell, mine sold within the first few hours, if yours dont then just repost with a undercut of 1 copper ;)

@TooSaucery - you are the EXACT type of seller I refuse to buy from. Not because you undercut but because you undercut by one copper? Dating back years of playing this game, I have maintained the same mindset about that type of crap and I refuse to support you and your kind. (yes, my perogative)

@Lynchstah Under cutting by a copper or 10 silver is still undercutting, its best to do it at the lowest amount so you don't kill a market that your trying to make money from, if its undercutting in general you don't like, then you should not be using the auction house :P

@TooSaucery - Let me just clrify my previous statemen. I appreciate the quick way to make money, especially if it works. My comment about "your kind" is in refernence to the manner of undercutting by 1 copper, not the rest of your idea.
