@victoryordeath420 - If they do not "submit willingly to their governing state", then that governing state will use force against them. The same is true of "required military service". These things in and of themselves are force. They are tyranny. It is the definition of extortion - obtaining money through coercion.

@diogotomediogo - In 50% of the world, $2 will buy you quite a great deal more than it will in the US. For that matter, more than 50%. Poverty worldwide is dropping, at a great rate. Lifespans are increasing.
Private charity will help those in dire need who cannot help themselves, once you remove those who have grown dependent on government. Poverty in the US was falling before the "Great Society", then it stopped falling. This is not a coincidence. This is not due to an increase in greed.

a thief steals money for himself
government redistributes money to the poor!
welfare garantees that if you are unable to contribute to society, not because you dont want to work, but because you cannot at this moment (for a number of reasons: being handicaped, old, sick, no arms, etc) you shouldnt starve or live in misery.
in addition, surely you are not serious that private charity will reach every people in need! 50% of the world lives on less than 2 us dollars a day!

(such as protect me, include me and ensure my standard of living)
Bull shit. Ensure me my standard of living? That is not a responsibility of goverment, and nor should it be an expectation. Do people honestly expect that they should recieve a standard of living from the government?
Government only role is protection. Protect rights and laws, so our FREE society can operate.
-
I just wonder what that means considering the bail-outs?

Finally, those who submit willingly to their governing state (e.g. correctly filing taxes, performing required military service etc.) can hardly define these payments as theft or extortion because of the freewill to leave or rebel against the state. However, those living under tyranny are another story entirely.

4. Under most current nations, citizens have the right to leave the state if they are dissatisfied. Of course governments have a history of taking much more than "enough to meet the costs average citizen's expectations" that extends beyond our oldest written records, but citizens (often) have the ability to leave and submit to another governing body or amass enough power to change the ruling body.
-
3. It's kind of irrelevant to argue whether or not taxes are redistribution of wealth.
In this case, it's more important to understand that a citizen living under a government has expectations (such as protect me, include me and ensure my standard of living); furthermore, it is important to understand that these privileges of the state come at a price (taxes, religious devotion, military service) which is dependent on the wants or needs of that nation.

1. This man's favorite wine which he doesn't want taken away happens to be Lafite Rothschild -- A wine produced at Château Lafite Rothschild, which was originally owned by the son of the founder of the Rothschild banking empire. If you want to know who is really stealing your money, investigate the private banks of world-power governments.
2. Robin Hood supposedly stole from the state leaders and holders of any real money (those with enough to hold power) to redistribute it among the oppressed.

If any of these network types were smart, they would given Dr Williams his own show. The man is brilliant. I assume they fear he's a little dangerous and threatens the status Quo from which they all profit. In that case, they'd be right...
I can only listen to the Rush Limbaugh show when Dr. Walter E. Williams is filling in!
America needs Dr.Williams to have his own daily show.

@YentaY0 Redistribution of Wealth is real and the Government steals money to do it. Where do you think the money for Section 8, Welfare Checks, Food Stamps, TANF, SCHIP and every other Government handout comes from?
The reason Exxon paid no taxes, if that is the truth, we have yet to find out, is because the Rockefeller family controls it. It is a part of John D. Rockefellers' "Standard Oil." Do you know anything about the Rockefeller family and their grip on the United States?
