Someone said your first love is the one that lasts forever.

Recorded using Tascam 488, Ensoniq EPS, Mackie 1604, Sears Spanish Guitar, '93 Fender Strat Plus, Epiphone/Gibson Baxter Cuttaway,'64 Fender Jazz Bass, all the wrong mic's and the signal chain of infamy.

  • Katerina returned from Wurzburg to Hannover in late summer 1967.

That's the last I heard from her.

I do hope she is happy and well.

  • The Tascam just records what you send to it, but you have to take advantage of the additional headroom into the +2 or so Hot Zone to really burn in your tracks nice and fat. I used the clean tube stage of my guitar pre-amp to pump the vocals and

    acoustic guitar tracks.

The Ensoniq took care of the keys, drums sequenced, but I played everything else live. I think there's 4 guitars layered here including a single note layer

on the Strat Plus. The acoustic is my Sears Spanish Guitar :-)

  • I sure learned a lot doing all of this by myself.

There's about 120 hours into the song tracks and final mix down, tracking, bouncing down sub groups and adding more tracks etc.

Cheesmo gear by today's standards, but I tried to make the best of it.

  • Key, Thank you for your kind words of support!

    Very much appreciated.

  • Sounds like Alice Cooper.

  • So Lovely Song with beautiful images ...*****

  • Gnarly,very 70s Lennon sounding.

  • I wrote this song back in 1993. My first attempt at solo production for better or for worse. At the time, my Ensoniq EPS opened up a whole world

of possibilties, allowing me to put drums, strings, horns

and various keyboard sounds to my ideas.

I had only been playing guitar and keyboards for about a year since my primary instrument was bass.

As you might imagine, it was quite a challenge to bounce all this down to 4 tracks for the original master.
