@MrJdiffend servicability is the issue. we get customers at my shop that bring in the lost cost ones and want us to fix it,the problem is we cant get the parts for it, sure a carb clean is simple but when the actual electrical not the engine fails its hard to get the parts. Yamaha sells their engines to others and they put there name on the outside but it does not have the Yamaha electrics in it. When you buy a Genuine Yamaha product from an authorized dealer you get the real deal

I purchased a Generac for $420. A Honda or Yamaha would easily cost twice as much. I don't mind a little extra noise at that much difference and EPA ratings tell us NOTHING about usable life of the generators.
BTW, if you want a comparison that will set the generators apart, run a small ( 1/2 HP to 1 HP) air compressor with them. Some generators won't do it and some will.
