EPIC KNIGHT BATTLE!!!!!

LOL!! Obviously this isn't anything epic. It was at an SCA knight tournament thingy a friend had invited me to. I was expecting some actual REAL weapons and jousting and axe-throwing and archery.........but sadly was disappointed to see fiberglass shields and wooden swords. Oh well.................ENJOY!!

We actually hit much, much harder with these rattan swords than those that use "real" swords. The quotes are because the guys and gals the use "real" swords, actually use blunt stage swords. They also are almost always choreographed. We are not. Most of us use metal and wood shields. Fiberglass just wouldn't hold up, because we hit far too hard. All of that being said, I am sorry your friend didn't explain that, but I hope you will try the SCA again. Maby try some armor on and feel the power.

Also, this is a squire (red belt) versus a knight (white belt) - both of them typically have years of training - there's 'epic' in the skill of the fight, the tactics used, and the co-ordination, speed, etc. It's 'just' sword & board of course, and both are using the traditional 'iron chicken' for their combatative stance - however, any normal person or anyone w/o a great deal of training would lose to either of those combatants in under 10 seconds.
