I saw the Oils in Philly back before the split and they played this, Say Your Prayers, and The Real Thing. It was totally unexpected since technically the Real Thing disc wasn't released in the US.
I agree about the Diggers comment too, but it's a cover isn't it?
It's an okay song but a blatant title rip off of a Hawkwind classic. I wonder if Midnight Oil has any tunes called Stairway to Heaven or Strawberry Fields Forever?
The last song on the "Real Thing" CD is called "The Last of the Diggers." A real intense song that could have just as well been written during their "Diesel and Dust" days.
@DelDuio
Yeah, and he is responsible for some of the best Oils songs like My Country :D Moginie also did as much writing for Midnight Oil as Hirst.

@Asmodera well I wouldn't doubt it. Hirsty is responsible for more than half of all Oils songs as it is. :D

Nope, I don't think it's a cover. Truly a great song. I think Rob Hirst wrote that one.

Oils Playing small gigs was the best and this song was a good warm up for a top night

love it! In fact i loved the whole album. A lot of fringe Oils fans didn't like it don't know why.
