  • Hey since your a groomer I have a ?. I have a lhasa apso right and she is always crying and she is always getting stains around her face and it's red. Is that ever going come off and is there a reason why she is always crying?

  • There are several reasons why a dog may have excessive eye drainage. The first reason may be the diet. If your dog is on a grocery store pet food diet, it is likely full of low nutrition fillers and

  • ....low nutrition fillers (like over processed corn) and preservatives that your dog may be allergic to. I can' say that I've ever seen a dog with excessive eye drainage that was on a really good diet.

If you are here in Vancouver, I suggest you go to Howl at the Moon and talk to Terry. She knows a lot about dog food. Specialty dog food may seem more expensive but here are the benefits. Your pet eats less, poops are smaller, and your pet has fewer health problems.

  • ....so the answer is YES.... the red stains will go away. It's not an overnight process though.... it takes about 3 to 6 months after switching your pets food. And, Lhasa's are over bred so they seem to have a lot of food sensitivities.

  • Once I saw a dog getting a bath and reason why I say the dog is like get your soapy hands off of me because when they were scrubbing the dog down while their hands soapy hands were on the dog, the dog started getting mad and growling I guess it didn't like the soap or the feeling.

  • Some dogs will growl and it means that they are just mumbling (talking) or it is a warning they are irritated and going to bite. Either way, some dogs dislike getting bathed.

Here's the benefit of a dog getting bathed other than the obvious get rid of the funky fermenting corn chip smell. Dogs are tactile creatures and loved to be touched all over. Who ever is doing the touching, the dog is loving every moment (in most cases). We bond with our dogs this way.

  • Funny you should say that. Some dogs just don't dig getting a bath. You can see that this dog's parents adore him. However, it doesn't mean the dog's going to like getting bathed. Some children hate taking a bath, but who wants a kid that smells like sweaty gym shoes? Who wants a dog that smells like fermenting corn chips?

  • I bet your dog is like get your soapy hands off of me!!!!
