@Ashworth6 I liked the way they showed the duel in the miniseries. Unlike in the book and this movie, Paul had never killed anybody and didn't understand it was a duel to the death. Also in the mini they let you feel how humiliated Jamis felt and that how even after a few days interval he was still angry and also jealous over the clear attraction between Paul and Chani. In the mini, Paul beats Jamis so badly that when he tries not to kill him, Stilgar thinks he's cruelly toying with him.

Jessica's comment should have been left in both movies. Such an important moment in Paul's character development...

THANKS FOR THIS GIFT. TO ALL THE PEOPLE WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS FILM : PLEASE READ THE BOOKS OF FRANK HERBERT.

He was one of the tribe called Jamis, one of their best warriors. Paul Atriedes offended his honour by beating him up in self-defence when the fremen attacked Paul and his mother as they first entered their realm. Jamis challenges Paul to a fight to the death and under Fremen rules Paul can't refuse the duel.

What was the context of this scene? The guy he killed looked like one of that tribe. Why would they fight each other? What happened?

@vassephardi Yes Sean Young played Rachel in Blade Runner. In Dune she played Chani.
