Alright, alright, I'm putting it up on YouTube! This is a montage I did for an opening of a DVD I burned for a friend who had never seen ice dancing before. See part two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYigvwQfEuI
DISCLAIMER: This is all for fun, no flames please I don't want to get flamed with a bunch of 'ohmygodwhy-didntyouputupsoandsoinyourmontagetheyrethebesteverhowcouldyouyoufilthybastard' comments please, okay? Also, I didn't realize the funny disclaimer (which is NOT MINE) in the beginning would be quite so long....

Teams featured (briefly) and not in order:

Jane Torvill/Christopher Dean
Isabel and Paul Duschenay
Marina Annissina/Gwendal Peizerat
Jane Towler/Bernard Ford
Tracy Wilson/Rob McCall
Angelika Krylova/Oleg Ovsiannikov
Maia Usova/Alexander Zhulin
Marina Klimova/Sergei Ponamerenko
Shae-Lynne Bourne/Viktor Kraatz
Navka/Kostamorov

  • FANTASTIC vid! I love the archive footage @ the beginning - interesting to watch! the T&D bits were great (they rule!); a lovely compilation!

  • Thanks so much! It was so much fun to do! The second one I did ('Ice Dancing Greats: Closing') has alot more T&D clips in it, and I just couldn't help ending with a T&D 'moment'...it just makes me smile every time!!

  • Thanks for posting us this video.

    Grishuk & Platov are unbeatable.

  • I love Oksana Grishuk & Evgeny Platov!

  • Correction - 5 times champions but please go to wikipedia for exact details.

  • Between 1963 & 1965 Bernard Ford and Diane Towler (UK) were 25 times world, european and UK Champions but seem forgotten as in those days not much TV footage was saved to archive.

I saw them at Wembley over 40 years ago and were as sensational then, as Torvil and Dean are today.

    Thanks for posting.

  • lol i love the before and after T and D thing, brilliant!

  • oh cool I shall have to check that out! Keep up the wonderful montages; they're fantastic to watch :D
