I find it interesting that a song that is a German triumph propoganda song, is accompanied by video, much of which shows German troops as POW's of the RKKA.

It's only in the last 30 sec of the video and reminds the viewer on how the war ended, so after the 'glory' of the advance comes the result of defeat.

There is no comparing Germans with Americans.Germans have roots the instinct of warriors, proud and idealistic not conditioned only by money as the shopkeeper English and rootless American is. Yes we did win it all in WW2. Germany almost beat Russia while simultaneously fighting Britain and then us. They were never able to commit more than 80% of their military to the Eastern Front against the Commies. Had it been Germany v. Russia alone, Russia would have been smashed, as they very nearly were.

I must add forever you left out the huge damage caused by the Einstatzgruppen SS. Over and over again the Wehrmacht and WaffenSS soldiers were welcomed or at least respected, only to have Himmler's killing squads take away all of it. There was possibility of an ARMY of soldiers from the Baltics and the Ukraine fighting against the Red Army, not just a few WaffenSS divisions.

If Hussein buried his own fighter aircraft under soil and flew others into foreign countries, it is reasonable to at least consider that the Mustard gas was also disposed of in a similar way.

loft you make good points about what did lead Russia to ultimate victory, but nonetheless they would have lost in 1942 vs Germany alone. In fact one on one, Germany would have started a month earlier in May 1941 and Moscow would have fallen the first year. If you read many historical accounts of the Eastern Front, it is abundantly clear how inferior the Russians were in fighting ability, whether tank v. tank or man v. man. Even with numbers, they would have lost without Brits and us.

I'm not so convinced of this - Hitler was a horrible tactician who vastly underestimated the force of the Russian winters and please don't forget that Stalin had significant troops and production facilities in Siberia. Furthermore, one should not discount the force of the burning hatred of the Russian people who had suffered almost unimaginable cruelty at the hands of the Nazi troops. The real reason Russia was so weak was due to Stalin's paranoid purges of within the military prior to the war

well let's see, first yes Brits made artificial state of Iraq, but Kuwaitis didn't want Saddam to take over, they have rights don't they? Hi Fallschirm, Do u know when the Brits left Mid-East, they deliberately drew the border of Kuwait-Iraq in such a way that some of the oil wells of Iraq were shown as that of Kuwait's which was the reason for Saddams 'illegal' invasion? 2.
