☆English commentary:
This is a clip I've made to cheer Mao, my most favorite skater, mixing characters from a Japanese animation called "Lucky Star". "Lucky Star" is based on the daily life (mostly school-life) of 4 high-school girls, and they usually just chat around about little things in life in a comical way. The characters in the story are all kind, cute and funny like Mao is.
*About the 'MOE!' culture: 'MOE!' is a sort of slang mainly used among Japanese animation fans. It means they're greatly attracted to someone because of their charm. However, the subjects of 'MOE!' are usually not sexy, but rather girlish and cute. Adorable girls are called 'MOE!' characters, in both animations and real life.
*around 1:03, is Philippe Candeloro with 'The Godfather' logo. Many of you probably know already, but he is known to be Maos' godfather on ice.
*around 1:37, little Mao appears in a ballet performance with black cat ears. I think she was about 4-5 years old. Cat ears are known to be an attractive motif for the 'MOE!' emotion.
*around 1:37, Mao in her novice years. She falls from a spin and lands on her hands and knees which looks like what we call an 'ORZ' symbol ( _| ̄|○). It expresses disappointment or sense of failure.
*around 1:49, Mao meets Ryota;a golfer who's the same age as Mao.I mistook him for another golfer named Ryo Ishikawa, so his name in the subs are incorrect. Sorry!
*around 2:01, the white dog is a popular character in a Softbank cell phone service CM in Japan. He's supposed to be originally human, but became a dog for mysterious reasons. He's middle-aged, is called 'dad', and has a wife, daughter and son who are normally human.
*around 2:12, enters Nobunari Oda, one of my most favorite male skaters. I'm sure you all know him now because he won this year at TEB. He's known as a really humorous guy who loves to make people laugh.
*around 2:27, is Sayuri Yoshinaga. She's one of the most famous and successful actresses in Japan. Everyone loves her here, and were so happy to know she adores Mao, too.
*around 2:31, is Rei Nakanishi. He's a writer known to be a big Yuna fan, but after her warm-up obstruction accusations against other skaters, he's said that his admiration for Yuna is 'cooling down'.
*around 2:33, is lawyer Takayuki Osawa who also appears frequently on TV as a commentator.
*around 2:51, is Minoru Sano. He's a retired skater who's head of the Japan Figure Skating Instructors Association. He is known for making strict comments on Mao, and praises Yuna alot.
*around 2:58, some footage from Korea's SBS TV news in which Yuna said other skaters obstruct her during warm-up and practice. I don't think what she said was true, but I don't think she was lying on purpose either. I think she simply mistook other skaters' intentions.
around 3:15 appears Peter Krick of ISU. He was saying stuff like 'Don't worry about 3A. You don't win a competition with a 3A. Yuna's got the correct beat'. I think it was foolish and unfair of him to comment in favor of a certain skater in his position.
*around 4:04, Mao was named after the actress Mao Daichi. She's mainly a theater actress, who's known for her gorgeous costumes and fashion tastes.
*around 4:15, is Yukie Nakama. She's an actress who's very popular. She's got a real beautiful face, but unfortunately she's also quite famous for her non-sexy figure with very small boobs.
*around 4:24, I've inserted a photo of Mao in a maid like dress. I don't think Mao ever wore an outfit like this, though. I found this on the net and it's probably a photo collage created by a her fan. Maid outfits are a subject for 'MOE!' to anime fans.
*around 4:24, there's a talk show footage of Mao, Ryota Ito and Athens Olympics gold medalist of JUDO, Keiji Suzuki.

I don't understand this song but this montage is so funny :D And you show 2 things which I love about asada: her temperament and determination to be better.

Thanks so much for commenting! This song is sort of a riddle of words with no meaning, except for the part which says 'You can take it all away, cause I'll be the one laughing in the end!'. It fits the way Mao ended the past season, doesn't it? She's so determined like you say, she always gets better towards the end of the season. I really like it when athletes are like that!
