Mead is older than the Greeks. It was the staple of the Vikings. They used to raid each others villages for their prized cauldron where they brewed this nectar from Valhalla. They viewed the intoxicating properties of mead as a euphoric spiritual experience. Now we know that it was alcohol that was causing this euphoric state, but they didn't, at the time. Stories of magical cauldrons spread from these Viking tales into every part of the world they sailed.

Good brewing to you Guys! I have 6 gallons that I just finished brewing for the last six months and I'm going to transfer it into another container and add another gallon of water, honey, and nutrient mix. Around the first part of December, I will rack it off into champagne bottles and give it to my friends for a very merry Christmas!
