@variedmusiclover It's true that Joseph Smith was sealed to a girl that was 14 years old. However, given the historical context, I think it would be unfair to judge him as a pedophile. The most common age for girls to marry at the time was 17 and girls marrying younger was not uncommon. My original point about Jeffs, though, was that you seem to be criticizing Mormons for his actions, yet even LDS church members believe that he is a false prophet.

@saxguy2011 They had to adjust to the reality, that the average citizen would never accept polygamy or pedophilia. Most churches do change their beliefs, in order to be accepted by a broader spectrum of people. It's about building money & reputation, in order to lure more followers. However, Warren Jeffs was undeniably influenced by the original beliefs of Joseph Smith. Of course, the same crimes exist within the Muslim religion, too. There is no denying the connection to Mormon religion here.

@variedmusiclover Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Warren Jeffs was the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a group that split off from the LDS church almost a hundred years ago. Today, the two churches have no association and their teachings are entirely different. Warren Jeffs is NOT Mormon by any means.

These people are completely belittling and mocking one of the most terrible human beings on the planet today. They don't understand the extent to which this man is evil, not crazy, not stupid.

Mocking him and calling him crazy mitigate the fact the he is responsible for the rape and imprisonment of hundreds of girls, not just the ones he "married"

Also, as a point of fact, he's not from Utah. He's from Arizona and his group is based in Texas. Not Utah.

In comparison, the Seventh Day Adventists don't want to claim David Koresh, either. I suppose they are by-products, of specific teachings, which are (in fact) part of those religions.

I'm just speaking figuratively, though I believe in demonic forces. Of which christianity is the largest cultic movement ruled by these.
