How to beat Mortal Kombat II with one credit.

Note: There are several videos on YouTube showing how to defeat Kintaro with a trick which works in M.A.M.E., on the PS3, and PS2, but does not work on the actual arcade. Thanks to UltimateMK, TRMK and ClassicMK for the help finding the new trick.
Beating MKII involves 3 patterns: Shao Kahns, Kintaros and everyone elses. W/everyone else using Jax, duck until theyre close then jump back. The CPU will follow and jump towards you. While theyre airborne, jump towards them, kick them, then hit block asap to grab em. As they fall walk towards them then jump away. Rinse, and repeat. If you mess up, its easy to recover. Like if you can't seem to get out of a corner, just let them throw you and start again. Not everyone simply walks up to you. Sometimes theyll slide or jump kick you, but if they connect just try again. Reptile can be a pain, but a jump kick should make him visible. Dont get cocky, all it takes is one wrong move to cost you the round. But as I mentioned before, its easy to recover. (You can freeze a dragon in mid-air if the background scrolls fast enough - 2:35 @ the far left)
The CPU can start with 1 of their special moves. Jax likes a GP, WP, or jump kick. I cover HP just incase. Even if you get hit the worst thing is missing out on a flawless. Doing this trick w/Jax through Shang is a lot harder as the AIs coded to recognize who its up against and change its pattern accordingly. Raiden can trick you into thinking it didnt work, by turning around, and even punching like it didnt. Dont fall for it. Just jump back. Who knows, maybe youll break a record! It doesnt have to be a jump kick in a direction as when youre in the corner a straight upward jump kick will catch em too. The fastest time I got with this method had 91 seconds left on the clock. While the jump kick into a backbreaker works best, a reg backbreaker will work. Though the kick input may still be necessary, if done early enough it wont register. Just the backbreaker will take longer. It can take some getting used to, but youll get the hang of it. For the record, the newer Happ sticks arent as good as they used to be, which did not help me. I never thought Id get a flawless vs Kang.
On a side note, there's another trick, that when you duck and the CPU walks up to you, they'll just keep punching and missing. This trick only works w/certain difficulties and certain characters. If your main goal is to beat the game, I suggest forgetting the hiddens. If you don't know how to retaliate vs a regular AI, you can lose trying to get them. Jax is one of the highest, 'tiered' characters, as such his moves can counter almost anything but you must learn when to use them. (One of the few games that ends your CPU win streak prematurely.) Johnnys cake. Hell go for a jump kick, shadow kick, or Orb Throw thatll leave him wide open. If you continue on this stage and win one round at the very left, the MK logo appears smack over Kanos face. Kung Lao may try to fool you the same way Raiden does. Earlier in this vid, it appeared as if I didnt do the Dead Pool fatality. Truth is, if done late enough, the commands no longer work. If done a hair earlier you will perform it late, but unlike most late fatalities you wont get credit for it. (wonder what The Pit does) Sometimes the CPU will do a special move more than once, consecutively. Just keep ducking. Very rare cases take two or three tries to get them to follow you but letting them throw you usually fixes it. Shang is just like any other character. The hardest part of this guide is Kintaro. Hes tough and like most characters in MKII, his pattern will change as he takes damage, making him even more difficult. But we got this. :)
Kintaro has a few ways to begin a match. Unlike the others, who usually start with just one move, he can start with any of his. But if you kick him in mid-air, and follow up with a Wave even if he blocks it he'll take damage while at a distance. Its this that triggers him to attack again, which you can then catch with another kick. If you time it right you can Wave Punch repeatedly and hell block while taking damage. This can, in most cases, do 50% damage before he breaks free. A Gotcha into a jump kick is also handy. Sometimes you can even hold back and hit HK, and hell walk into it a few times. That doesnt last long, tho. If he goes for his Teleport Stomp catch him with a jumping F/B kick or a straight upward kick (usually). If hes not attacking jump backwards until you reach a safe distance and Wave Punch him. Kahn may attack first, but just kick him! Its not just hitting the kick buttons over and over, but its def. easy. If he opens his mouth, jump kick him to close it. (If I grabbed Kahn on my last attack...)
You're my supreme everything, baby. (Hearts)
Awesome guide, man.. Can this same pattern be done with Scorpions' air throw?

@Evilyellowtang I just tried it, and you can do it but I think it's more difficult. The CPU doesn't want to cooperate as much but you should be able to pull it off.

@altezza5566 I'm wearing a hat because my hair looks bad and your first brilliant response is to call me a stupid wigger? I added the text to explain how it works and your unfathomably productive response is to tell me I'm no good at MK2? What is it with people like you? Did your Dad not hug you as a child or what? Some people have absolutely no brains, and sometimes, they need to be made an example of. Don't hate on someone who's helping others. Take your weak pathetic remarks somewhere else.
