Traveling from Piura, Peru I went for a day trip to the quaint town of Paita, Peru. One gets the feeling of a lazy fishing village when you visit Paita. Walking along the fishing wharf you gaze upon the hundreds of small fishing boats dotting the harbor.
The central park is really laid back and the old timers are usually playing chess on the wooden covered cement chess boards located on one side of the park.
There are some interesting restaurants to choose from and the small sandy beach to visit.
Not really a town to swim in the ocean, but you could get some sun on the beach.
The architecture is pretty nice and gives the town plenty of charm. If in the area, go and take a peek.
