Nick POV
We walked upstairs and I noticed that McKell was gone. Where did she go?

Kevin: where did she go?

Stella: who?

Nick: uh- uh you. There you are.

Stella and Joe gave us weird looks. I wonder what happened. Why didnt she want to stay? Soon my dad and mom came upstairs.

Sandy: Today at lunch were going over to the Boltons for a barbecue. They have a surprise for us.

I knew what it was. Me and Kevin both did. Joe just nodded and Stella moved out of the crews way. We performed our song and did an interview. Then we all got ready to go over to the Boltons. Once we got there jack opened the door.

Jack: hello.

Nick: Hey.

We walked into the backyard and Joe looked up shocked when he heard McKell laughing with Chad.

Joe: McKells here?

Stella: it looks like it.

Nick: yeah, she came by this morning, but she had to leave.

Joe: so you knew and didnt tell me?

Nick: She just left in a hurry. Im not sure, she was going to say hi to you, but she was gone once we got upstairs to perform.

Stella; where was she?

Nick: the staircase. I think she heard you guys talking.

Joe: crap.

Stella: yeah.

Kevin: what did you guys say?

Stella: I said something along the lines of us liking each other.

Nick: but she doesnt remember anything.

Joe: youre right. I shouldnt worry. Lets go say hi.

His voice was doing a little better after we gave him so cough drops.

Joe: McKell!

She turned around and glared at us then grabbed Chads hand and walked away from us. Joe was left dumbfounded and we all were confused. Alex, Miley, Keisha and Macey joined us.

Kevin: ok what was that about?

Joe: I dont know.

Miley: Lets go talk to her.

Stella: did you not see that? She didnt just glare at Joe; she glared at all of us. What did we do?

Nick: I dont know, lets just go find out.

We walked over to the swing that she was sitting on while Chad went to refill his drink.

Nick: Ok what is your problem?

McKell: All of you. All of you are my problem.

Kevin: What did we do? You were happy to see us earlier?

She rolled her eyes.

McKell: that was a mistake.

Joe: McKell, please tell us.

She looked up at him with tears in her eyes. I had never seen her look so hurt in my life.

McKell: Does the cruise, or the tree house, possibly the hotel, or the accident, or the musical and Can I have this dance ring a bell to you Joe?

Joe: You remember.

It was a statement, not a question. It was quiet and full of regret. She stood up.

McKell: yeah damnit I remember! YOU LIED TO ME! All of you, my best friends, cousins, even my brother. But most of all YOU!

She poked Joes chest with her finger. She was angry and crying. I wanted to comfort her, because she w as always like a sister to me.

Joe: Im so sorry McKell; I wish I could take it all back but-

McKell: its too late.

Joe: please lets talk.

McKell: NO! You lied to me about everything, about what I was, about who we were, about everything we were! I cant just forgive you or talk this through. Why the hell would you lie to me? To protect yourself from having me hate you after the break up?! Because you should have just told me and then possibly we could have talked it out, but now we cant.

Joe: McKell please-

His voice was wavering and cracking. He was on the verge of tears.

McKell: No you lost your chance. All of you. You were supposed to be my friends. But you all lied to me.

She shook her head and walked inside. We all looked at each other guiltily. We shouldnt have lied to her. She deserved the truth from the very beginning. Joe looked down.

Joe: Im going home.

He walked out the gate and started walking home. Chad came back.

Chad: Where did she go?

Keisha: She remembers.

Chad: What?

Alex: She remembers the months she lost from the accident.

Chad: so she knows about her and Joe?

Nick: he got the worst of the yelling.

Chad: She probably hates me too.

Keisha: Shes mad at all of us. We lied to her. Shes our friend; we should have never lied to her.

Alex: Joe started it.

Stella: but he just didnt want to lose her.

Miley: yeah, but look where that led him. Not only did he lose her, but so did we.
