    In my case, my name is Andre but my japanese friends call me Ando. It easier for their tongue.

  • mine is Timo They used to try to call me Timu, but it made no sense to me.

  • Actually, there is academic literature to suggest that since learning second languages adds new facets to people's multiple identities, encouraging learners to take a nickname or something is helpful.

  • The best way to remember Japanese names is to ask them how they write their names in Kanji to study what each Kanji means and why their parents named them so.
