In 2007 Microsoft announced the surface table and in the same year Apple announced the iPhone. Now we're in 2011 and there are millions and millions of iPhones in the world and there are umm...well there are about...umm...well...yeah I've never seen a single surface table in my life!

If you have so much money that you're willing to throw down 30,000 dollars for a table that is not a necessity in your life, do the features, if any, need any feasible functionality? The Surface is a device establishing a cultural novelty for the rich; establishing a technologically advanced category for the wealthy. Just like the American Ferrari consumer base is to wealthy car collectors and first class art is to the wealthy art collector, the Surface is a novelty device for the rich tech geek

I have not heard one word about SURFACE since CES '08. It has not taken it's place in the world. Pure vapor-ware, may serve as a great concept but never will it become practical, at least not while in the hands of MS. Not to say they are a bad company, they just make poor business decisions.

I cant believe they are acting like fanboys and bringing it to Apple vs. Microsoft fight. Its not about the logo but about the technology itself. Yes Kevin it is very much possible to have an interface with which cell phones, credit cards, and other digital devices can wireless communicate (with encryption) to the table top computer. He needs to stop being so negative about it.
