Leaving Egypt in 331 BC, Alexander marched eastward into Mesopotamia (now northern Iraq) and defeated Darius once more at the Battle of Gaugamela.Once again, Darius was forced to leave the field, and Alexander chased him as far as Arbela. Darius fled over the mountains to Ecbatana (modern Hamedan), but Alexander instead marched to and captured Babylon.

  • what movie is this i must have it!!

  • @Vovk3

    Technically, yes.

  • @broadman69

Well said. However, I must say, if Alexander was any different from the Greeks, wouldn't he being from a Greek tribe be the biggest "difference"?

  • @Calucifer13 Shut ur filthy mouth and respect a GREEK when he speaks of his own Heritage, History and Nation.. ESPECIALLY when he's proving his point while dealing with a dirty propagandist wannabe who attempts to steal the GREEK Identity cuz he's got nothing to represent. And by the way, EVERYTHING proves these days that Alexander was Greek.. Read the fuckin Encyclopedias and History books u illiterate clown before criticizing and judging like the ignorant fuck that u are. Enough said.

  • @Jeffanos God bless you brother.

  • @MandGmusics Our Only Difference is that i use Historic sources and u just make statements...All the ancient Historians say that Makedones were Greeks (even the name Macedonia is Greek it comes from Makednos which means tall)...Now if u confuse the geographicall region of Greece with a Modern country of FYROM it's your problem mate just try not to express these opinions in public they will laugh at u...

  • @Jeffanos Do you only know how to insult people to persuade them ? Alexander was Macedonian even if you dont want to accept it. (Its even more glorius for Alexander to have been Macedonian and have dominated Greece) Its the same situation as that of Napoleon, he was corsican but dominated France, Alexander was Macedonian, but dominated Greece....Or are you gonna say too that Napoleon was French ? Both of them reigned over the world, but from places in which they were not borned.

  • @MandGmusics So Plutarch Diodorus Siculous and Manius Curtius Rufus (not to mention Herodotus) were actually using propaganda according to your inteligent opinion?? When Strabo said Macedonia is a part of Greece was using propaganda so that the Slavs of FYROM (who were actually in Asia by that time) were destroyed?? U r trully an idiot friend may God give u some brains so we can have a real conversation..

  • @Jeffanos Alexander the Great used the Greek propaganda to conquer and deploy his power over Greece, but was he born on Greece ? Nop, he was Macedonian because there he grew up. His father intended to alienate him as a Greek, but even if an eagle lives like a chicken, it remains eagle. Dont be rude with me please, God bless you.

  • @MandGmusics According to your logic (if u have such thing) the guy who spread Greek culture spoke Greek and considered himshelf as a Greek (according to Arius Plutarch Diodorus Siculus Curtius Rufus and others) wasn't actually Greek because a new invented nation product of Historic revisionism with Slavic origin says otherwise??..U r either Idiot or propagandist...
