Here's my music buskers bacpack drum kit that I've been workin' on for quite some time. It's amazin' how little I've got done for the amount of time I've spent either workin' on it or thinkin' about it but it took me some time to find the main ingredient--a kick drum that I could pay so little for that I didn't mind cuttin' and drillin' to get it to do what I want it to do. So I finally got the drum cut off and mounted to my backpack and the kick pedal mechanisim mounted to the drum. Now I'm lookin' for a hi_had cymbal cheap enough that I can cut part of the stand off and mount it to my rig. I've looked real hard online for some info on building a rig and there are some pictures but no real step by step procedures on how to build it. I love pictures and step by step procedures, as a matter of fact I used to love the old flow charts to repair mechanical things when I was in the Navy but I don't think hardly anybody uses'em any more. Anyway, maybe I'll write a step by step procedure when I get through with mine but I wonder if any busker is really every through with his rig?

  • That's amazing!! Do you mind if I borrow an idea from you?!

  • @masterman321

I'm glad you like it. And yes, please borrow as many ideas as you can find. I love the concept and idea of the one man band backpack, but the first time I actually got it mounted and playable, I discovered that my legs would not co-operate keeping the beat to the guitar for more than one song before I would have to take a break. I'm sure that if I was younger and hadn't had heart by-pass surgery 15 years ago and didn't have the blockages in my legs that I could make it work.

  • pretty sweeet

Thanks, there are several one man band videos on youtube, some of'em are really sweet.

  • Maybe instead of hooking the mallet to your shoe you could hook it to a velcro strap around your knee/leg. Just thinking that might make it a bit easier :D

That you. It's something to think about, I'm still lookin' for ways to make it work.
