In 2010 Dr. Brad Black, a pediatric ophthalmologist from New Orleans, Louisiana, treated 8-year-old Quang Chien for his strabismus which was impairing his eyesight, stunting his visual development and making him feel different around the other kids in his school.

Two years later Dr. Black returned to Da Nang Eye Hospital in Vietnam for a Flying Eye Hospital program where a happy and healthy Quang came to see Dr. Black for a follow-up visit.
