@stemeh Think you should listen again. The original isn't slow at all - it's about the same speed. I personally think the original is vastly superior, but that's subjective. The speed, however, isn't.

ok i like erasure i dont like this video its a bit weird , but the original song is slow boring and flat, erasure put a uplifting twist on the song and he sings it better ,they made a boring song a good pop song its as simple as that the original version is BOOORRRRIING I THINK ALL THE CRITICS SHOULD GO LISTEN AGAIN

This is exactly the way a cover should be done. If you can't improve on the original, don't do it. Andy Bell has the voice and Vince Clarke has the musicianship to put their own stamp on the song without insulting the original.
