  • ezdrummer is much cheaper and sounds more realistic -.-

  • @feewert42 OWD can sound just as realistic. But the main difference is the very specific drum samples. The prices for Ocean Way Drums products vary from almost as low as EZD (OWD SE is) to the deluxe Silver, Gold and Platinum where the value difference isn't because of realism but it's because of the content which was sheer massive studio time at Ocean Way with countless hours from Allen Sides and Steven Miller. That's not cheap in real life either (much much more). So to get Ocean Way's sound..

  • That sounds amazing!

  • @Goku313 Thanks. What's special about this product that some people miss is that it has its own sound. All drum products do because they are recorded in different places. The way they are done differs as well. This particular product was one of the most expensive drum products to do. Just blocking out Ocean Way for that long (even for the mix presets, not just the sampling part) was something rarely done. Not everyone realizes that.

  • to me the hi hat still sounds a tad fake

  • @higgy1051 Hi hat sample triggering from V-Drums are the trickiest to do. Some software is better at this than others and also if you tweak the settings in the V-Drum it can improve. From a midi keyboard the hi hats are actually some of the most realistic because it has more articulations to choose from.

  • I think oceanwaydrums is a mindblowing product with the best sounding room ever but when it comes to the maximum velocity it sounds as if there are only two or three samples for each velocity level. How many samples or "hits" have you used? When i do a snare roll on my td12 kit it sounds a little bit machinegun like.

  • Steven Slate Drums absolutely KILL these.

  • Yo Homies' listen to this guy, hey kicks-butt but most of all he knows how to tune the freakin' drums, 99% of drummers can't keep a steady tempo or groove going & most of all have absolutely no idea how to tune their kit.

Don't become a drummer just because you are too tone-deaf to play anything else, all the really great drummers can sing & play an instrument other than drums pretty well.

  • Does this work on a Alesis DM10, i wonder?
