I actually liked the movie for what it was. The way I see it, if it got people to pay attention to the books and the series when they ordinarily wouldn't, then that's okay.

I have to say, the casting of Stephen Fry as the Guide and Alan Rickman as Marvin were perfect.

I like to get up before sunrise and watch Venus rising before the sun. It's quiet, magical, and I'm still hoping to catch a lift.
