Asus N53SV - I7 2630QM, 2.0GHz with tubro boost to 2.9GHz 8GB ddr3 ram, Nvidia Gt 540M overclocked to 830, 1000, 1660. framerate, 26-34 fps while recording with fraps. Average was around 30. I actually found some of the laggiest parts of the demo to record in. Overall, i am extremely pleased with how the card performed. Temperature never got above 72 degrees Celsius.

  • Wow, I am amazed by the temperature you are getting, I got a new laptop and when its gaming on its default clock, my temp goes up to 85.

Did you use like additional cooler?

  • @UglyHoboBoys I was using a bad program to measure temps. I am running close to 80c when overclocked. If my computer rises much above 80 it resets itself back to stock clocks.

  • Please make a 540m overclocking guide!!!!!

  • @koolkip I've been having way too much fun over winter break, but i'll do my best to get one out before next semester starts!

  • Hi, which program do you use to overclock???. I got an alienware m11x R3 so i would like to know please answer me. i usuallly get arround 85 C normally do you know why it reaches so high temperature?

    please answer thanks

  • @xXiRegretNothingXx I do have a cooler. Cooler Master U2. No man, that OC does help man. :

  • @DiChatZ hmm i actuly found a soulotion not overclock at all, but i bouth laptop cooler it runs even better then overclock. i guess the problem is that the card heats up too much and fps drop quiet a lot.

  • @xXiRegretNothingXx It's definitely not healthy for your laptop. You have to downclocking your laptop a bit. Find your own max, or else you killing your laptop.

@yfzrider13 - I must apologize. I have tried to OC once with MSI Afterburn, but didn't work. Now I tried you advise, and it worked. My 3DMark06 score went from : 8.950 to 10.500.

    Thanks mate :)

  • @oResistancEo Hmm, well I will try that and see if it helps.

  • hey dude can you plese help me i get huge problems when i overclock mine... i have like flickering shapes randomly appering on all games, do you have any idea how could i stop it without not downclocking it ?

    My system:

    CPU Intel Core i5 2430M 2,4GHz to 3,0GHz

    GPU Nvidia Geforce GT540M 1GB GDDR3 clocked at 800,950,1550

    RAM 4GB + 2GB GDDR3

    OS Windows 7 Proffesion 64BIT

    Nvidia driver version: 285.62

  • @DiChatZ i currently have the n53sv with a 2670qm and nvidia 540m and i oc it with msi afterburner and get an average 10 fps increase with the core clock at 830 mhz, the shader clock at 1660 mhz and the memory clock at 1000mhz

  • @yfzrider13 Sure, and what program you use? MSI Afterburn? Mostly OC goes through BIOS.

  • @DiChatZ I'm running a few settings on very high and recording. I'm going to have my overclocking tutorial out soon. Its actually quite simple if you use the right program. The video should be out soon, hopefully i can help you out!
